Concealed Permits
Concealed permit applications can be obtained at the Custer County Sheriff’s Office. After completing the application, the applicant needs to make an appointment to complete the process. The cost for a permit is $50 for a new application and $25 for a renewal.
Civil Enforcement
The Custer County Sheriff’s Office has a Civil Enforcement Division that serves papers involved in any civil proceeding and some criminal actions. This includes summons and complaints, subpoenas, writs of executions, child support, foreclosures, and many others. Fees $50 for each party needing served. Detention Center
The Custer County Detention Center is located at 1010 Main St, Miles City, MT 59301(Behind the Courthouse). The Custer County Detention Center will not accept personal items for any inmate. Money (cash or debit/credit card) can be deposited directly using the kiosk in the main lobby for the inmate’s commissary account while they are in this facility. Money can also be deposited online by going to : www.jailatm.com. *You will need to create an account. After your account is created select: Montana, Custer County Sheriff. From there you can select the inmate and add money ($300.00 weekly limit).You can also pay bail online at the following link: Bail Payments You will need to know the inmate’s agency number and bond amount.
Visitation:
Video Visitation is now available! You can visit via video terminal from our lobby for free or from anywhere for a small fee. Go to https://securustech.online/#/facilities-we-serve to sign up. You MUST schedule the appointment a calendar day in advance. And then be approved so please allow time for that. Each inmate will get one free visit from the lobby per week, after that, normal rates apply. Video visiting is available every day from 8 am to 9:45 pm. Visitation is not allowed from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm & 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The twice weekly in person visiting (Tuesdays & Saturdays from 1 pm to 4 pm) will end after May 5th,2018.
Serving Time
Persons ordered to serve jail time by the city or justice court can report at 9 am,12 pm, and 6 pm only. Intoxicated persons will be refused. Bring any valid prescription medication with you. Call ahead with any questions at (406) 874-3301.
Release Times
Inmates are released at 8 am,11 am,3 pm, and 9 pm daily only
When Is Court?
Generally the Detention Center does not receive advance notice of court dates. Inmates are transported as a judge requests them. To find out when an inmate has a court appearance, please call the following offices: For City of Miles City court 234-5939, for Justice Court 874-3408, for District Court contact the County Attorney’s office at 874-3310.
Fingerprints
Fingerprints for the public are done Tuesdays ,Thursdays, and Saturdays from 3:00- 5:00 pm. You may have to wait a couple of minutes so your patience is appreciated. The fee for this service is $15.00. $5 per extra card (after your first 2).
- An appointment is required. Slots are open in 15 minute increments to allow for cleaning in between. $15 exact change no cards or checks. We cannot make change.
